She was born and raised within Baltimore Maryland. As an infant, she showed an interest in acting. She was awarded the Best Actress Award in the Maryland High School competition. Contractor, who was raised by his parents in Nigeria and Mumbai prior to turning 7, had traveled across the globe and lived through many cultures as a child. After an entire year, she was given the lead part. In 2002, Canadian critics praised her performance in 92 performances of Pericles. Contractor was given the chance to take part in the conservatory, where a select eight men as well as four women can be accepted to take a crash course of 20 weeks on the classical stage that she gladly accepted.
